What does it mean when a book is on Reserves in the library or it's on Electronic Reserves??

My professor told me to use the book but I don't know where to go.

Answer

When a book in on Reserves, it means that a copy is reserved for students of the class to use.  To use the book,  go to the circulation desk and give the staff your professor's name and/or the title of the book.  The staff will allow you to use the book in the library only.

You can search the library catalog by the title of the book to see which libraries have it on reserve.  It's possible that another professor at a campus closer to you also has the same book on reserve, and you can view or photo pages from it there.

If your instructor has items on e-Reserves, they will be available online and you'll get specifics on how to access them.
